Thousands of farmers in Maharashtra have come out to participate in a rally on Monday against the three farmer laws passed by the Government. These farmers are from 21 districts of Maharashtra and started the March from Azad Maidan in South Mumbai to the Raj Bhavan. A senior Police official has stated that the police have made tight security arrangements and the farmers will not be allowed to march to Raj Bhavan.
The official also said that they don’t want people to face traffic congestion because of the Morcha and the smooth flow of traffic will be there in South Mumbai. Around 800 personnel of the Mumbai police and two companies of the State Reserve Police Force companies have been deployed for the rally.
Mumbai Police is continuously making announcements to wear a mask and maintain social distancing during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This really is a call given by samyukta Kisan Morcha, a pro-farmer body. It is being held to support the farmers who are struggling for the last two months in Delhi and have demanded the repeal of the three farm laws and for a central law to guarantee Minimum Support Price(MSP) and procurement all over the country.
